My best companion: my travel journal
As summer is already here, I want to show you my traveling companion the last 2 years: my travel journal!
I have bought an exclusive journal just for this purpose. Since, I am extremely fond of the STM journals, for my travel needs, I bought a yellow iconic Scribbles That Matter (STM) journal. I like this colour a lot, it feels summer, calm, sea, relaxing and nice memories. It is a happy colour! Since I am drawing maps a lot (for the places I visit), the heavy paperweight of the STM journal is just perfect! No bleeding, no ghosting, what else do you need?
In the very first pages, I have created a packing list. I mean, it is the number one thing you will need, once you get ready to prepare for your travel. I left enough space to add things in the future, since, there is always something you forgot…(!).
As I said, for every trip I draw a map. I like this a lot since I get to know the place better, before even arriving there. I use coloured pencils for this purpose. Below is the map of Kea Island. I have added some villages as well, in order to know where is the port, where I am staying, etc.
The next thing is my best: trying to find information on what to do/visit/go/buy/see while there. In order not to forget those, I make a list in the page right after the map. So convenient!
Finally, I create little boxes, for every day I am staying! In these boxes, I track the weather, how my day was, the places I visited, where and what I ate and all little things I would love to remember! Even how much I spent!
I think, this “system” suits me, and it is always so lovely to be able to go back to past vacations and remember happy moments!!!
Do you have a travel journal? What do you track in there? Please share with me your spreads, to see how you track your holidays and days!!!
